Bode George : Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has taken aim at party members who, he claims, are secretly working to undermine the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking in an interview on Arise Television, George declared, “You cannot serve two masters” — a remark he linked to alleged political manoeuvres by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
George accused certain PDP figures of attempting to position themselves to benefit from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next election cycle while still holding influence within the PDP. Without naming Wike directly in his accusations, George suggested that the minister’s political actions signal a strategy to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, despite still having ties to the PDP.
He warned that such double loyalty would not be tolerated, stressing that the party’s constitution and internal discipline mechanisms would be fully enforced. “If you want to be with us, be with us. If you want to go to the other side, do so openly,” George said, adding that erring members must either reaffirm their commitment to the PDP or face sanctions.
George also reiterated the importance of unity, adherence to the zoning arrangement, and the need for the PDP to present itself as a credible alternative in 2027. He expressed confidence that with strict enforcement of its rules and a clear political direction, the PDP can recover from internal divisions and mount a serious challenge in the next presidential race.
