Comedian DeeOne Alleges Kizz Daniel Once Refused to Show Up for Paid Event
Nigerian comedian, DeeOne, has recounted a tro¥bling experience he had while working with Afropop star, Kizz Daniel.
Speaking in a recent conversation, the comedian expressed frustration over what he described as the carefree attitude of some Nigerian artists, warning that if the trend continues, foreign acts from Tanzania, Ghana, and other African countries may begin to dominate the Nigerian entertainment space.
According to DeeOne, he once booked Kizz Daniel to perform at an event for a popular brand, but the singer refused to show up despite being fully paid. He claimed that it took sending people to physically bring the singer down to the venue before he eventually appeared.
“We pamper them too much. Very soon you’ll see African artists from Tanzania, Ghana, everywhere taking the spot of Nigerian artists. I have booked Kizz Daniel for an event before, for a very popular brand, and he refused to show up. We had to send people to drag him down to the venue. This is very wrong because artists abroad don’t behave like this; they are time conscious. Imagine if it was abroad—it would even look awkward to involve the police in that type of situation,” DeeOne said.
The comedian noted that while Nigerian stars often get away with such behavior at home, international promoters and audiences would not tolerate similar actions.
