The Borno State Police Command has confirmed the recovery of a cluster b+mb discovered on farmland in the state.
Police spokesperson Nahum Daso said the expl+sive was found after a farmer, Babagana Kachalla, noticed a suspicious object on his land and alerted authorities.
Following the report, the Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, deployed the Expl+sive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to the site. The area was immediately secured, and the b+mb — identified as a cluster b+mb unit measuring about 2.2 meters in length and 30 centimeters in width was found partially buried.
The EOD team carried out a controlled demolition of the device before safely extracting its components. The operation was completed without incident.
Police further urged residents to remain vigilant and report any strange objects, while also sensitizing the community on safety measures around explosive devices.
