Buhari Was Angel in Human Flesh – Ex-Osun Governor, Bisi Akande

Former Osun State Governor and pioneer National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, has described the late President Muhammadu Buhari as “an angel in human flesh.”

Akande made the remark in Kaduna on Wednesday when he led a delegation of political associates to condole with the Buhari family, saying the former president’s de@th was a personal loss that left him deeply shaken.

Recalling his last meeting with Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, Akande noted that the late leader appeared strong and healthy at the time.
“We had a nice time together. He was looking robust and very strong. We even joked about enjoying our villages—he in Daura and I in mine. I never imagined that would be the last time I would see him,” he said.

The APC elder statesman, who first received news of Buhari’s de@th while abroad, said he was devastated and made it a priority to visit the family on his return. He praised the former president as a rare patriot whose legacy would outlive him.

“Maybe he was an angel coming in human flesh. His spirit will continue to live forever because of the good work he did for Nigeria,” Akande added, stressing that Buhari’s values of service, integrity, and discipline would continue to inspire generations.

Akande was accompanied by Senator Abu Ibrahim, former Minister of Youth and Sports Development Sunday Dare, APC stalwart Alhaji Mahmud Abdullahi, Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment Silas Agara, and Convener of the Arewa Think Tank Mohammed Alhaji Yakubu.

They were received at Buhari’s Kaduna residence by former First Lady Aisha Buhari and his eldest son, Yusuf Buhari.

In his remarks, Yusuf expressed gratitude to Akande, his entourage, and President Bola Tinubu for ensuring that his father was given a befitting burial.
“Our father lived by integrity, discipline, and service to Nigeria, and we will continue to uphold those values,” he assured.
