OAP Nedu Alleges Some Women Get Pregnant Intentionally to Gain Weight
On-air personality Nedu has sparked controversy with a recent claim made during his show on Max 102.3 FM, alleging that some young women in Lagos deliberately get pregnant as a means of adding weight.
Speaking on air, Nedu said he had heard of cases where “very sl+m girls” opted for pregnancy solely to gain body mass.
According to him, the weight gained during pregnancy is the primary motivation, after which some allegedly choose to t+rminate the pregnancy once they have achieved their desired body size.
“The one way girls dey do now for Nigeria… some very sl+m girls, I’ve heard girls do it. When they want to add weight, what they do is they get pregnant. Once they get pregnant, dem don come add weight — pregnancy weight — then they will now t+rminate the pregnancy,” he said.
Nedu’s comments have since generated debate online, with many questioning the veracity of the claim and expressing concern about the potential health and ethical implications of such actions.
