The Nigerian Army has announced the success of a nationwide offensive conducted between November 29 and December 1, 2025, resulting in the k+lling of eight t%rrorists, the arrest of 51 suspects, the rescue of 27 victims, and the seizure of w+apons and other illegal items.
In a statement shared on its X handle on Tuesday, the Army disclosed that troops of the 151, 152, and 192 Task Force Battalions in Borno State k+lled four ISWAP/JAS f+ghters and recovered rifles, ammunition, a Baofeng radio, and other military equipment. The troops also foiled infiltration attempts around Chibok.
The statement added, “In Plateau, Taraba, Benue, Kogi, and Kaduna States, troops under Operation Whirl Str+ke and Operation Enduring Peace rescued 20 victims, including women and children, and arrested suspected k+dnappers, human tr@ffickers, extremists, illegal miners, c¥ltists, and a g¥nrunner.”
It further noted that in Taraba, four v+olent extremists were k+lled, with w£apons, amm¥nition, and motorcycles recovered.
In Delta State, troops arrested two c¥ltists and confiscated a locally made p+stol and mobile phones, while in Plateau, security forces recovered 76 rustled cattle.
According to the Army, an illegal oil refining site was dismantled in the South-South region, and 25 dr¥g suspects were arrested during joint operations with the NDLEA.
The statement continued, “In Kaduna State, troops intercepted vehicles carrying expl%sives, detonators, and fuses, prompting further investigations. Notorious g¥nrunner Shuaibu Isah (aka Alhaji) was also arrested while attempting to obtain 1,000 rounds of ammunition from accomplices still under pursuit.”
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding citizens and ensuring that t%rrorists, criminals, and their collaborators find no refuge anywhere in the country.
