Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has revisited the site of the Great Nigeria Insurance building f+re that occurred on December 24, 2025.
He expressed condolences to the families of the victims and those affected by the tragedy.

The governor confirmed that eight people have d+ed, with 13 others rescued so far. He also announced the establishment of an information centre at the site to assist affected persons.
Declaring the area unsafe, Sanwo-Olu ordered the continued closure of nearby markets and said the damaged building would be demolished following thorough safety assessments.
