An anti-drug operation in South Africa has turned d+adly after a Nigerian national was sh@t d+ad in Johannesburg.
The incident occurred on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Windsor East, Gauteng, during an operation involving ActionSA’s Ekurhuleni Mayoral candidate, Councillor Xolani Khumalo.
According to an eyewitness, the victim, identified simply as Rugert, was found sleeping in his car when he was suddenly awakened by a man standing on the vehicle’s bonnet. Believing he was about to be hijacked, he allegedly panicked and attempted to drive away. He was sh@t in the process.
ActionSA confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Monday, saying the sh@oting occurred during an anti-dr¥g operation joined by Khumalo.
“During an anti-dr¥g operation yesterday, a shooting incident occurred in which a Nigerian suspect, identified as being involved in dr¥g trafficking, was shot,” the statement read.
Speaking in his capacity as the party’s Ekurhuleni Mayoral candidate, Khumalo said, “I can confirm that there was a sh@oting incident during an anti-dr¥g operation yesterday. A Nigerian suspect was sh@t.”
The party explained that the operation was part of its wider campaign against dr¥g tra@fficking and organised crime, which it said had continued to t+rrorise communities through v+olence and intimidation.
