In a recent video shared on Facebook on Sunday, March 15, 2026, Primate Elijah Ayodele spoke about the political future of Nyesom Wike, offering advice and caution regarding the steps necessary for a successful presidential ambition.
In the video, Ayodele stated, “Before becoming president, pray and do what is needful, or your political plan may fail.” He explained that achieving the nation’s highest office requires more than ambition; it demands preparation, foresight, and spiritual grounding to overcome unforeseen challenges.

According to Ayodele, Nigerian politics is complex and often unpredictable, with leaders needing to anticipate opposition, shifting alliances, and the ambitions of both supporters and rivals. He noted that a lack of careful planning or neglecting necessary steps can derail even the most promising political plans.
Ayodele further emphasized that anyone seeking the presidency must be strategic, build strong political structures, and cultivate loyalty among supporters. He advised that careful planning, disciplined action, and seeking spiritual guidance are crucial for navigating the intense competition at the national level.

The cleric added that understanding and managing relationships within political circles is vital, as rivalries and misunderstandings can easily create obstacles. Maintaining trust, unity, and consistent engagement with allies, he stressed, can help mitigate risks that may arise during political campaigns.
Ayodele concluded by urging Wike to remain focused on both strategic and spiritual preparation, noting that long-term political success depends on foresight, careful planning, and strong grassroots support, as well as doing what is needful before pursuing higher office.
