In a move that has sent ripples through the international diplomatic community, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has issued a formal appeal to Arab nations to forge a strategic alliance with Pyongyang.
According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Friday, March 20, 2026, the North Korean leader is positioning his nation as a primary security alternative to Western powers, citing the intensifying geopolitical friction involving the United States and Israel.

During a speech broadcast by state media, Kim urged governments across the Arab world to reconsider their current diplomatic leanings.
He framed the proposal as a defensive necessity, suggesting that a partnership with North Korea would serve as a shield against foreign interference.
“I call on Arab countries that fear Israel and the United States to declare an alliance with North Korea,” Kim stated.

He characterized the move as a way for these nations to push back against what he described as the “dominance” of Western and Israeli interests in global affairs.
Kim went beyond mere diplomatic overtures, offering bold assurances that North Korea would actively intervene to protect the sovereignty and assets of its potential allies.
He signaled a readiness for Pyongyang to transition from a diplomatic observer to an active security participant.

“We will discipline the United States and Israel and protect you from their occupation and exploitation of your resources,” Kim declared.
The North Korean leader emphasized that the window for such an alliance is closing, warning that hesitation could lead to irreversible territorial and economic losses for Arab states.
