Abel Gershon, a 300-level Building student of the University of Jos (UNIJOS), has d+ed after battling inj¥ries sustained during the recent att@ck in Plateau State.
The incident occurred on March 29, when suspected b@ndits stormed a popular bar in the Jos North area, opening f+re indiscriminately. At least 28 people were confirmed de+d, while several others were inj¥red.

The Plateau State government imposed a 48-hour curfew following the incident. Governor Caleb Mutfwang condemned the att@ck, describing it as “barbaric and unprovoked.”
Earlier, Gershon had been listed among survivors.
“It has been confirmed that 2 students and one staff of the University of Jos are among survivors of the Angwan Rukuba mass@cre,” a statement by Emmanuel Madugu had said.
However, Gershon later succumbed to his inj¥ries.

“Yes, the student d+ed last night. I can confirm that to you officially,” Madugu said, adding that the school would reach out to his family.
Student union president Younglan Tongpus also confirmed the development.
“Yes, it is true. He d+ed on Easter Sunday. He was one of the victims of last Sunday’s att@ck at Angwan Rukuba and had been in the ICU until his d+ath,” he said.
