Kenneth Okonkwo, a Nigerian actor and lawyer, has said that any presidential aspirant within the ADC coalition who leaves the party due to internal disagreements risks being viewed as politically compromised.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, he warned that such a move could be interpreted as working against the coalition’s interests.
He added that if Peter Obi fails to secure the ADC presidential ticket and decides to leave, such a move could be interpreted by supporters as aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s political interests.
He stated: “Now if he leaves, will he now be a mobile supporter? Now anybody, any presidential aspiring ADC, seeing what everybody is going through in ADC that leaves ADC for another party, one, he’s a mobile supporter, then two, he is working for Tinubu”
He further stated that “Because if all the coalition leaders are facing through all these crises, even with unity, then what do you think one person can do going out? Anybody that goes out of the coalition is compromised and is working for Tinubu, whoever that person is.”
According to him, if a candidate exits the ADC after failing to secure the presidential ticket, such a move may be interpreted as indirectly supporting President Bola Tinubu’s political interests.
