During a recent sermon, David Oyedepo Jr. shared a striking personal story about sacrifice in marriage, revealing how his wife gave up her American residency shortly after they wed.
According to him, his wife had spent most of her life in the United States and was just a step away from becoming a citizen when they got married. However, he made it clear from the beginning that their future would not be in America.

“The moment we got married, I said, ‘No, we are not staying in the US; we are moving to our place of assignment,’” he recounted.
He explained that without hesitation, his wife returned to the embassy to surrender her green card, a document many people desperately seek.
“She had a green card, just a step to citizenship. She went to the American Embassy for the first time and told them, ‘I came to return my green card. I don’t want green card again. I’m staying with my husband,’” he said.
