Dr. Nwaubani, a member of ANPA, had travelled to Nigeria with her husband and daughter, who is a final-year medical student in the United States, to provide free healthcare services to residents of the state.

According to the state governor, Alex Otti, the doctor developed a sudden medical emergency while participating in the outreach and was quickly rushed to a hospital for urgent treatment. A combined team of ANPA professionals and local medical experts worked intensively to stabilise her condition.

“Despite the gallant efforts of the highly skilled medical team to resuscitate her, she could not make it,” Otti said.

Otti further commended Dr. Nwaubani’s family and ANPA for allowing the outreach programme to continue despite the tragic loss.
