US Launches Manhunt For 45-Year-Old Nigerian Woman Who ‘Disappeared’ Before 8-Year Prison Term For Romance Sc@m
U.S. authorities have launched a manhunt for Emuobosan Emanuella Hall, a 45-year-old Nigerian national who failed to report to prison to begin an eight-year sentence for her role in a romance fr@ud scheme.
Prosecutors said Hall, a permanent resident in Atlanta, Georgia, was sentenced in January 2026 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fr@ud, as well as money l@undering.
She was ordered to surrender by March 25, 2026, but did not show up. Her last known location was Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where her tracking device stopped working. Although she claimed she was travelling to Minnesota to report to prison, records showed she never boarded the flight, and investigators believe she may have fled instead.
Authorities say she worked with a co-conspirator to defraud victims by posing as wealthy figures such as military officers and entrepreneurs on social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
