Officials received the returnees upon arrival as authorities continue to monitor the situation and coordinate further evacuation plans for Nigerians still stranded in the country.

The development comes amid growing concerns over the safety of Nigerian citizens living in South Africa, where recurring x+nophobic incidents have sparked diplomatic tensions and calls for stronger protection of foreign residents.
