A Police Inspector, Dr. Obodo Paul Ikechukwu, has reportedly lost his life following a tragic road accident allegedly involving a police convoy in Enugu State.
The late officer, who was from Nkpologu in Enugu State, was attached to the Operations Department of the Enugu State Police Headquarters before the incident occurred.
Although the exact circumstances surrounding the crash have not been officially confirmed, sources said Dr. Obodo sustained fatal inj¥ries after he was reportedly hit by a vehicle said to be part of a police convoy.
Beyond his policing career, Dr. Obodo was also a PhD holder and was widely regarded by colleagues and associates as a committed and hardworking officer.
Enugu State Police Command are yet to release an official statement on the incident. Authorities are expected to provide further details as investigations continue.
