Two Suspects Arrested With 35 Bundles Of St%len Human Hair In Edo State

Two men have been apprehended by the Edo State Security Corps in connection with an alleged r%bbery at a human hair store in the GRA area of Benin City, Edo State.

The suspects, identified as Ekobase and Okau, were reportedly tracked down after investigators examined CCTV recordings from the incident and deployed technical intelligence to identify those allegedly involved.

According to the security corps, footage from the shop allegedly captured Ekobase brandishing a g¥n, thre@tening the workers and locking them in an inner room. Okau was reportedly seen removing over 90 bundles of human hair from the premises.

The st%len products, which reportedly included wigs, were said to be worth millions of naira. Investigators also alleged that the suspects used a minibus painted in the state-approved colour to carry out the operation.

Following their arrest, operatives reportedly found 35 bundles of human hair in the suspects’ possession.

The shop owner said the business had been targeted previously and that efforts had been made to identify the perpetrators.

“My shop was r%bbed, and ever since then we’ve been on the lookout for the criminals, three guys and a lady. But we just got to hear that the Edo State Security Corps have found them, and we are more than thrilled,” the victim said.

The Acting Corps Commander, Richard Balogun, disclosed that the suspects had been questioned during the preliminary stage of the investigation. He said the review of CCTV footage, combined with technical intelligence, helped security operatives locate and arrest them.

The suspects and the recovered items have since been transferred to the Intelligence Rapid Response Team at the Nigerian Police Force headquarters in Benin City for further investigation and possible prosecution.
