Peter Obi Is A Trader And The Logic Of A Trader Is Short-Term Turnover. He Has Not Offered Any Alternative — Adams Oshiomhole

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has criticised NDC’s presidential candidate Peter Obi, describing him as a trader whose approach to leadership focuses on “short-term turnover ” rather than building a solid foundation for future generations.

Speaking on Channels Television, Oshiomhole questioned what Obi would do differently if elected president, asking his supporters to identify the alternative policies he had offered.

“Peter Obi have not offered any alternative, he is a trader, and the logic of a trader is short-term turnover. A statesman that Tinubu represent speaks for the next generation and must ensure that the structures being put in place for the next generation are solid. And that’s what they have been doing,” he said.

He challenged Obi’s supporters to explain whether he would abolish the student loan scheme, asking, “You think a president who will introduce student loans if you tell every Nigerian parent can afford it? Will they abolish it?”

He also questioned whether Obi would “reintroduce multiple exchange rates” or “buy naira from Aboki and go and save” as he allegedly claimed to have done in Anambra State.

Oshiomhole further argued that “the most important thing about leadership is being courageous enough to tell your followers, your countrymen and women, the truth, however bitter that truth is.”

He accused Obi of making contradictory statements about fuel subsidy removal, arguing that his position changed within a month and that “you can’t pin him to anything.”

The former Edo State governor also questioned Obi’s credibility on taxation, alleging that he kept substantial assets in offshore tax havens where taxes are not paid.

“Do you know Peter Obi does not pay tax in Nigeria, he kept his money in a tax haven and that is somebody that wants to manage your taxes. But he cleverly manipulate the books and keep his own taxes and lot of his huge assets in off shell where taxes are not paid” he claimed.
