Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested three women suspected of collaborating with ISWAP terr%rists during an intelligence-led operation in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the arrests followed intercepted communications suggesting plans to move a woman to a terr%rist-controlled enclave. Acting on the intelligence, troops of the 222 Battalion (Mechanised) conducted an operation at an internally displaced persons (IDPs) camp in Konduga, where the suspects were apprehended.
The women are alleged to have played roles in facilitating communication and movement between civilians and terrorist elements operating in the North-East.
Military authorities said the suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue to determine the extent of their involvement and identify any additional links within the network.
The arrests are said to be part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt support structures and collaboration channels that aid terr%rist activities in the region.
