ACP a$saults, locks up his nursing junior colleague for leaving her duty post to use the toilet

An Assistant Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Okenla Oluseyi is reported to have physically a$saulted a junior officer in the command, Helen Onoja for unknown reasons.

Sahara Reporters gathered that the victim who is a nursing mother was detained for several hours after she was publicly be@ten by AdP Okenla’s orderly identified as Emma Oji in front of the area command office. It is reported that the incident
happened on February 17, 2022.

A source who spoke to Sahara Reporters said, “He is known for always intimidating junior officers. The lady in question wasn’t even working under him. She works in another division. The Area Commander and his orderly, b@ttered, k!cked, p#nched and dr@gged her on the dusty roadside of Orthopedic junction, Abakiliki expressway here in Enugu as if she was a criminal.

Sadly, this woman was wearing police uniform when an officer who should maintain the law was physically ab#sing her in public. She was posted as a traffic controller. After some hours on duty, she felt she needed to use the toilet.

As she was going into our office to answer the call of nature, our boss, ACP Okenla saw her and ordered her to go back to her traffic point despite the officer explaining to him that she wanted to use the toilet. She immediately obeyed him and returned to the junction without using the toilet. While back on her duty post, ACP Okenla sent a colleague to call her.

“On her way back to our office, ACP Okenla blocked her with his orderly at the gate and started br#talising her. She was subsequently bundled inside a police cell with inj#ries. He thre@tened that he would treat her like a common criminal and nothing would happen. The woman was detained overnight and released around 10 am the following day. She was served a disciplinary action notice and Okenla vowed to deal with the mother-of-four.

We don’t know what Helen did to this man to warrant the m@ltreatment he meted on her. The police authorities should look at this injustice, even those of us working under Okenla are afraid of what will happen to us soon.”
