Family seeks justice as unknown ass@ilants allegedly b#rn 35-yr-old lady alive for demanding her share of her father’s inheritance

The family of Nnenaya Onu, a 35-year-old lady who was allegedly b#rnt alive for demanding her own share of her father’s inheritance, has cried out for justice.

The deceased was allegedly be@ten, stripped n@ked, dism#mbered and b#rnt alive by her ass@ilants in Onicha Igboeze Community in Ebonyi State.

Vanguard reports that the victim, who lost her only brother some years ago under a mysterious circumstance, was m#rdered behind her late father’s house.

Confirming the incident, the State Coordinator, National Human Right Commission (NHRC), Mr. Christopher Onyekachi Okorie said, “She was m#rdered in cold blood, her leg ch#pped off and her whole belongings heaped on her while she was b#rnt beyond recognition.

Her offence is that she insisted on demanding her father’s inheritance as a woman. She was not married but lived in her late father’s house at Onicha Igbeze.

Her old agonizing mother points at her cousins as the suspects of this atrocity due to their (the said Cousins) numerous thr#ats to her life before she was eventually m#rdered, dism#mbered, and b#rnt.

Her k#llers forbade any person from the village from talking about the incident nor even sharing the photo of her b#rnt carcass either on social media or otherwise.

Her poor mother wants justice but has no money to sponsor police investigations and arrests. According to the sister of the deceased, the incident took place on the 23rd of December 2021 and since then nothing has been done to bring justice to the victim.”
