Man allegedly inflicts injuries on his wife over a piece of land

A lady identified as Ifeoma Mbonu, is currently hospitalized after her husband, Henry Chima Ifeanyi,turned her into a punchbag.

It was gathered that the duo have been married for 9 years and are blessed with two kids. According to the victim, the latest incident happened on Friday, March 19, 2021, at their residence in Lekki peninsula, Lagos.

“I returned from my shop that evening and we started arguing over a piece of land that he wanted to sell. He stood up and started hitting me because I advised him not to.

The security man had to intervene and quickly rushed me to the hospital. This isn’t the first time he is beating me as he has been doing so since 2012 even while we were in Malaysia. It was so bad that the Malaysian government arrested him and told me to report to the Nigerian embassy over there.

My parents are aware and have been pleading with me to stay. The latest incident was reported at the Ajiwe police station, Ajah, Lagos. Henry lied to them and bribed them to close the case.

I’m still at the hospital and I desperately need help to get out of this marriage, “ she said.
