Woli Arole has announced his intention to commence a 5000-hour prayer marathon.

The comedian says he plans to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the “longest prayer session”.

Woli Arole, via Instagram, called on his supporters to anticipate his announcement of a commencement date.

“Pray-a-thon, 5000 hours. It is doable, anticipate Guinness Book Records,” the post tagging the GWR reads.

Last month, Hilda Baci, an Akwa-Ibom native, hit the limelight after attempting to set a record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Baci challenged the world record of 87 hours 45 minutes previously set by Lata Tondon, an Indian chef, in 2019.

Although the chef is yet to be vetted by the GWR, some others have been giving the record a shot.

Among them is Damilola Adeparusi, an Ekiti-based chef who commenced a 120-hour cooking marathon on June 9.

The attempts have set something a of trend among Nigerians, as with Arole who just announced a similar move.

It is not clear how Arole looks to achieve this, but a 5000-hour praying marathon amounts to a little over 208 days.

Woli Arole started his career as an actor and stand-up comedian from Obafemi Awolowo University.

He auditioned and became a finalist at the Alibaba Spontaneity contest in Lagos.

The comedian embraced social media and gained attention by creating videos on Instagram.

In April, the 33-year-old actor debuted an eponymous live show called ‘The Chat Room With Woli Arole’.
