My father will not fail - Seyi Tinubu assures Nigerians

Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has expressed confidence in his father’s leadership, saying the president will not fail Nigerians despite growing debates over the government’s policies.

In a video that surfaced on social media on Tuesday, Seyi thanked Nigerians who have continued to support the administration and urged citizens to remain hopeful about the country’s leadership.

I want to say thank you for the faith you have in our president. I guarantee you, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not fail Nigeria; the hope we have been waiting for and looking for is here, the president we have all wanted is here. I guarantee you,” he said.

Seyi’s remarks come as conversations continue in different parts of the country over reforms and policies introduced by the Tinubu administration under its Renewed Hope agenda.

Not long after the video began circulating online, it drew mixed reactions from some Nigerian youths on social media platforms.

One user, Chukwudi Kori, shared a screenshot recalling a campaign statement previously attributed to President Tinubu, which read: “If I don’t give you constant electricity for four years, don’t vote for me when I come back for a second term.”

Another commenter, Igbokwe Nnamdi, criticised the administration, saying Seyi should advise his father differently.

“The best advice you can give him as your father is to resign and allow more competent hands to move Nigeria forward,” he wrote.

Dan Tim also reacted strongly, alleging that the administration had worsened insecurity in the country.

Meanwhile, another user identified as Nwoko Izuu questioned the assurance given in the video, asking what hope Nigerians were being promised amid the current economic and security challenges.

The video has continued to stir conversations online, with Nigerians expressing different opinions about the performance of the current administration.
