According to a report by Nigerian Tribune on Thursday 26th March 2026, Prince Eze Madumere, the former Deputy Governor of Imo State under the administration of ex-Governor Rochas Okorocha, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC); The move marks a significant development in Imo State politics, given Madumere’s prominence and influence within the party.

In a letter dated March 17, 2026, addressed to the APC ward chairman of Ezinihitte Ward, Mbieri, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Madumere formally notified the party of his decision to leave with immediate effect; The former deputy governor stated that the decision was reached after careful reflection on his political journey and personal convictions.

Speaking to the Nigerian Tribune in Owerri, Madumere said: “I sincerely feel it is time for me to explore new paths;” He assured that his departure was not borne out of acrimony, adding that he intends to maintain cordial relationships with former colleagues; “I hope to continue collaborating with all stakeholders in the collective effort to build a stronger Nigeria,” he emphasized.
