Renowned evangelist and founder of Word Assembly Ministries, Reverend Isaac Omolehin, has publicly tendered an emotional apology to several prominent churches and Christian leaders following what he described as “harsh and hard” comments he made in his bid to address corruption and commercialization within the body of Christ.
In a special recorded message and shared via Facebook, Omolehin admitted that while his intentions were to call attention to the growing immorality, financial exploitation, and neglect of the true Gospel, his approach inadvertently offended individuals and ministries.
Among those he specifically mentioned were the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Winners Chapel, Christ Embassy, COZA, as well as Prophet Hezekiah and Prophet Funsho Akande of Ede.
“I want to make a special recording of what I’m about to say,” Omolehin began. “I have spent many years in ministry and have seen so much. But the Lord showed me there is so much corruption, immorality, and commercialization of the Gospel. In my attempt to address these problems, I spoke very hard, and many people became offended. For this, I apologize.”
Quoting Matthew 5:23, he emphasized the biblical instruction to seek reconciliation before presenting offerings to God:
“Jesus said, if you bring a gift to the altar and remember that your brother has something against you, leave it there, go and make peace, then return.”
Omolehin explained that upon reflection, he realized the importance of restoring relationships within the body of Christ, acknowledging that unity is paramount as “the coming of the Lord is very close.”
While maintaining his stance on defending the purity of the Gospel, the evangelist stressed the need for humility and forgiveness within the church, urging leaders and believers alike to focus on preparing for Christ’s return rather than engaging in divisions.
