Nigerians holding second citizenship from Caribbean countries like Antigua and Barbuda and Dominica face new challenges after the US added these nations, along with Nigeria, to its partial travel restriction list. This means Nigerians could face limits whether traveling on Nigerian or Caribbean passports.
The US cited CBI program patterns for Antigua and Barbuda and Dominica, while Nigeria was flagged for “screening and vetting difficulties” and visa overstays. CBI schemes let foreigners gain citizenship through financial contributions $230,000 for Antigua and Barbuda and $200,000 for Dominica, including options in real estate or business.
These passports grant visa-free access to 145–151 countries, offering high-net-worth Nigerians easier travel compared to the domestic passport, which allows visa-free entry to just 45 nations.
